This Scottish Highland Holiday is a perfect way to explore the Cairngorms and Speyside as well as visiting Royal Balmoral Castle, we enjoy Glenfarclas Distillery and the Strathspey Railway not forgetting in the morning a trip on the Cairngorm Funicular, subject to weather conditions.

Our journey north on Sunday will be mostly by motorway with suitable breaks en route to our overnight hotel around the Scottish Border area. On Monday we make our way to the Cairngorms stopping at Stirling and Pitlochry.
Three daily excursions include a trip up the Cairngorm Mountain Funicular Railway, weather permitting, reopened in 2023 after a closure of four years, time in Aviemore before a Steam Train Ride with Afternoon Tea included on the Strathspey Steam Railway.
Visit to Balmoral Castle and Grounds purchased by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert in 1852 with Audio Handset Tour included.
A morning visit to Grantown-on-Spey founded simply as Grantown in 1765 after Sir James Grant the on-Spey was added in 1898. After time for lunch, we visit Glenfarclas Whisky Distillery established in 1836 and one of the first to open a visitors’ centre in 1973.
