Often described as the ‘Backbone of England’ the Pennine Hills extend northwards from the Peak District up to the Tyne Gap. We explore the Forest of Bowland in the Pennine Hills as well as the infamous Settle & Carlisle Railway north by coach and then south by train we also visit Samlesbury Hall which dates back to 1325 and has been an inn, a private school, a home for fabric weavers and now a unique tourist attraction which attracts visitors from all over the world. Our local tour guide, Simon will escort us daily and has a natural, enthusiastic way of telling stories and imparting history that will leave you fulfilled and entertained, his knowledge of the Pennine Hills and the Forest of Bowland along with the Settle & Carlisle is notorious.
